It was just a well-suited match for a flying visit in Benalmadena with very good value for money. Parking can be tricky, so plan ahead.

Had a real good stay for one night, everything was perfect. Liked how the double room with a balcony was arranged when we arrived. Had magnificent location near to the beautiful Paloma park. Authentic cuisine was served in the authentic restaurant.

The hotel is not close to the beach but, if you are not looking for a beach holiday, it is perfect as it is close to a range of shops, bars and restaurants. It is also very close (2-3 mins' walk) to the train station for easy access to/from Malaga airport and other destinations along the Costa del Sol. The staff are excellent; they speak good English and are always happy to assist you in any way they can. The hotel is also open 24 hours a day, which is very convenient. Although the facilities are basic, they are adequate and represent value for money.
I really cannot fault any aspect of this hotel, as long as travellers are aware of its basic facilities and location a little far from a beach.

Very good experience and efficient and caring staff. Unbeatable location with good restaurant nearby. Found in a nice enough part of the town.

The room was impressively clean and came equipped with both air conditioning and a ceiling fan. I appreciated that the bathroom featured a powerful shower that stood out in terms of performance, perfect after a hot day out.
Thin walls are a definite issue. When things got heated at 4:00 am with my neighbors, it seemed like I was part of their midnight escapade. The lack of parking made it complicated upon arrival-I spent quite a while searching for a spot after the long drive. Although the walk to the train station is usually quick, dragging luggage on arrival isn't exactly ideal. Some rooms, especially those facing the bustling street, may experience unexpected noise during busy hours.

The hostel is about 200m around the corner from the train station and costs less than 2 euros on the train from Malaga. The Hotel is inland from the beach, up the hill in a prettier part of town, it's nice and quiet and relaxed, the hostel is also on a pedestrian street to make it even quieter! The staff were all very pleasant, friendly and helpful, the ground floor bar lounge and terrace was a nice area for a morning coffee or an evening drink. The room was basic in decor, but still nice and exactly as I expected from the photo's I saw online. My room had a small lcd tv mounted on the wall, which I was not expecting and a modern Air con unit with a digital control. My room and bathroom were both clean and well presented, for the price I paid I was very very happy with Hostal Sol y Miel, Thanks Very Much

The staff were friendly and helpful from our arrival to departure , The reception area and room , infact all areas were very clean. Beds made and clean towels every day . There is a TV in the room , ok only spanish channels, but who goes on holiday/short breaks to watch the tele. Lovely location not too far from the train station, We drove up, and an added bonus,, free public carpark about 5/10 minutes walk away. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in this area. It is a good walk downhill to the sea front but we went via a beautiful park with animals and wildlife in it. Paid 5euros to get back. All in all we had a lovely short break here .
To be honest , the only thing i did not like was the lack of respect / consideration from some of the other guests,. Slamming doors, shouting to each other and putting the tv on loud at 5am. Perhaps the staff /management could put notices/signs up asking guests to respect others.

great staff but minor room issues
The staff stood out. Joaquin greeted me with a genuine smile and offered excellent local restaurant recommendations. The cleanliness of my room exceeded my expectations, with both air conditioning and a ceiling fan, perfect for the summer heat. I also appreciated the optimal location. It was conveniently close to the train station. I enjoyed breakfast. It was simple yet good with toast, coffee, and juice.
My room overlooked a high street, which could be somewhat noisy at certain times.

Very well situated for the shops, restaurants and train station.
The breakfast although nice could have had some fresh cheese and fruit and maybe some yoghurt.

I did find the staff were very helpful, and friendly, and allways popped in for a drink every night and a laugh and a joke with the staff and the other customers. However,...because of circumstances, I spent a further 5 nights at the Hostal. Yo Fabio and Albertio, and everyone
I did not enjoy being woken up at 6am, by a workman with a huge lorry, pumping and water jetting the street outside for a full two and a half hours!!! Sleep? forget it!!!( Not the Hostal's fault,.. but they need to have a word with the local council officers re the timing of such opperations!!) All ways ask for an 'outside room', the inside one 's are like a broom cupboard,...with no window???a
